Because I live in the busy city there are times when I absolutely long for the healing beauty of mother nature. For a change of scenery I ventured into the Kruisberg near Heemskerk. It was my first time exploring this area and I was happy to see the first signs of fall were there to behold in the form of giant mushrooms. The greatest surprise was a giant heard of scottish highland cows one of my favorite animals. I ventured close to take the shot but I must admit these are intimidating beasts when you are close enough to touch them. I hope to be back there soon to visit these gentile giants!
